Community Bowls

Clatsop Community College Women's Resource Center Community Bowls

Clatsop Community College ceramic student's are making bowls for the Women's Resource Center for 7 years in Astoria and 3 years in Tillamook. Our collaborative effort has been focused on community relationships, quality, and environment. We work together to fire the bowls in the Astoria Dragon Kiln. This relationship has been strengthened through the process of collaboration between local materials and the needs of our community. It has been an inspirational journey between the potters and the Women in our community. The Women's Resource Center also provides services to many famillies and both men and women.

The quality of the bowls depend on these relationships and our student's at CCC go through many months of critical review to achieve the idea of beauty and utility. We are trying to match the impressive character and strength of the Women's Resource Center. Secondly, we reclaim our environment as our home.
